Perform Live at Derbion as part of Derbion Presents…

Do you have a passion for performing and ready to share your talents to a live audience? Whether you’re a singer, musician, dancer, or performer, Derbion is offering an exciting opportunity to showcase your talent in a unique and high-energy setting.

We’re inviting up-and-coming artists to be part of a rotating schedule of live performances. Come and set up on our live music set and you’ll get to entertain and engage shoppers of Derby.

What You Need to Know

🧳 Bring Your Own Gear – Artists are responsible for their own equipment, instruments, and setup.
👶 Am I Old Enough? – There’s no age limit, but performers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

💸 Unpaid Opportunity – This is a non-paid gig, but a great chance to build experience and showcase your talent.

🤔 Is This Right for Me? – Our centre welcomes a large and diverse range of customers, so performances should be appropriate and engaging for a broad audience.
🌟 Gain Visibility – Perform in front of thousands of visitors and grow your local presence.

📸 Get Featured – Selected performers may be spotlighted on our social media channels and website.

Requirements

PAT Testing

For everyone’s safety (and to keep the lights on and the music playing!), all equipment must be PAT tested before the performance. It’s a quick check that helps us avoid any unexpected sparks on stage

On-site checking in

Performers, don’t forget to check in at Customer Services to collect your passes for your performance. These passes help all staff members to know who you are—but they must be returned after your set so the next act can shine too!

Performance timings

Set lists must be shared with Derbion one week before the performance—or at the time of booking. This helps us keep everything in perfect harmony and ensures a smooth performance!

Under 18’s

If you’re under 18, make sure you’re accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. It’s all about keeping things safe and sound while you rock your performance.

Leafleting

Leafleting around the centre isn’t permitted, but don’t worry! A stand will be provided for you to display any leaflets you’d like to share.

Sound Pollution

As you’re performing in a shopping centre, Derbion may ask you to adjust the volume at any time. We’re just keeping things at the perfect level for both the crowd and the shops!

Performing space

– Performers must remain in their designated performance space throughout their set. It’s your stage—own it!
– Bags, trolleys, and cases must be cleared from the performance area during your set. Let’s keep the space safe and tidy so all you need to do is perform.

Banned Items

Glass bottles are not permitted in the mall.

Performer changes

Only approved performers are allowed to take the stage—no last-minute substitutes without prior approval.

Health and Safety

All performances must adhere to health and safety guidelines, including ensuring no trailing cables. Let’s keep things safe, smooth, and accident-free—no tripping over wires allowed!

Expectations/ code of conduct

Offensive Items

To help keep things fun and welcoming for everyone, performers are asked to steer clear of clothing that might be seen as offensive.

Offensive Performances

To keep the good vibes rolling, set lists should be pre-approved and free of any inappropriate content. If something slips through that hasn’t been cleared, we may have to hit pause on the performance. Also, for everyone’s safety and comfort, shirts/tops and footwear are required at all times.

Owners Risk

Just a heads-up: personal items are the responsibility of their owners, so please keep an eye on your stuff!

Arrival Times

To keep everything running smoothly and give you time to settle in or do a quick soundcheck, performers should arrive at least 30 minutes before their first set.

Additional Activity

Leafleting or money collections aren’t allowed unless you’ve got the green light from Derbion. Don’t worry though – there will be a stand available to display your leaflets in the area

On-site assistance

Performers are expected to keep things professional at all times. If anything comes up, Derbion staff will be on hand to help out

On-site etiquette

– I’m sure you don’t need telling but, please treat the performance area and equipment with care
– We have a zero-tolerance policy for intimidating behavior towards visitors, staff, or retailers. Let’s keep things respectful!
– Swearing, shouting, or unpleasant language is a no-go. Let’s keep it friendly for everyone.
– There’s a strict no smoking policy within in the centre, and alcohol should only be enjoyed on licensed premises.
– Electronic cigarettes aren’t allowed on the mall either.
– Any vandalism to our property or that of our retailers will be taken seriously.

On-site storage

If you’re performing multiple sets, we can provide a storage room for your equipment. Just a heads-up, though – items are left at the owner’s risk!

Performance space

Please leave the area clean and tidy after your performance—let’s keep it litter-free!
You may be performing at different spots around the center, but don’t worry—we’ll provide a backdrop and flooring for you.

Animals

No animals allowed, unless they’re assistance dogs – they’re always welcome!

Merchandise

Selling goods without our approval isn’t allowed anywhere in the mall, car parks, or surrounding areas—let’s keep it fair for everyone!

On-site Filming

No commercial filming or photography unless you’ve checked with Derbion first. But if you’re filming for your own socials, just let us know—we’re happy to support!

Derbion’s has the right to pause or cancel a performance/future performances if it is deemed disruptive, inappropriate, or unsafe.
