As part of its ‘Derbion Cares’ initiative, Derbion has partnered with the Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance to launch an in-centre Donation Station.

Following the successful inaugural year of ‘Derbion Cares’ in 2022, Derby’s  shopping  and leisure destination is set to expand the initiative with the introduction of an in-centre Donation Station to make it easier for shoppers to support charities in their local community.

Located outside Sainsbury’s on Level 1, the Donation Station will seek varying donations throughout the year and will list items the charities are currently seeking on-site and on the Derbion website, ensuring shoppers can donate in-centre with ease.

The Donation Station is currently seeking contributions of the following items for charities including Food & Education Enterprise, Padley, TOGS, Hope Centre Derby and Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity.

Washed and wearable:

  • Coats
  • Gloves
  • Jumpers
  • Hats
  • Scarves

The next focus will be donations of toiletries in spring, followed by school uniform items over the summer and finally children’s toys for Christmas.

The launch follows the centre’s continuation of Derbion Cares, which believes in supporting the next generation to build a better future, as well as running and supporting a regular calendar of charitable events in and around the city.
