Launched in 2022, Derbion Cares originally supported charity partners for a 12-month period through a range of fundraising events and centre-led activities.
The decision to extend its partnerships to two years is designed to maximise the impact that the centre can make for local charities, by building longer term relationships and awareness and creating more time to plan and deliver effective fundraising initiatives.
As part of its new strategy, Derbion has confirmed that it will extend its current partnership with local charity, Over The Wall Camp, for a second consecutive year.
Originally selected as Derbion’s charity of the year in 2025, Over The Wall Camp has benefited from access to free mall space and a range of centre-led fundraising initiatives such as sponsored walks and proceeds from seasonal events, with over £8,000 raised to date.
With Over The Wall Camp’s new headquarters set to open in Derby later this year, a range of new fundraising events are already planned for the months ahead.
Beth McDonald, Managing Director of Derbion, commented: “It has been fantastic to have the opportunity to support a number of local charities through Derbion Cares, and we hope that by extending the length of our future partnerships we can get to know each charity even better and provide greater support and fundraising.
“With Over The Wall Camp’s new Derby HQ set to open in 2026, we’re incredibly excited that we can continue our partnership into this milestone year for the charity, and we look forward to supporting more local organisations in the years to come.”
Alex Copeland, Chief Executive of Over The Wall Camp UK, added: “Partnering with Derbion Cares in 2025 has been fantastic for Over The Wall Camp. With their support, we’ve been able to raise awareness of our transformative camps to families, bring a sprinkle of Over The Wall Camp magic to Derbion seasonal events and raise vital funds to support our work.
“We’re so grateful that Derbion have chosen to extend the partnership into what is such an important year for our charity, as we open our ‘forever home’ here in Ockbrook. We already have lots of exciting things ahead and we look forward to hitting the ground running and working closely with the Derbion team and Derby community in 2026.”
East Midlands-based registered charities can apply to Derbion Cares later in 2026 for the opportunity to receive two years of support through fundraising and awareness activities, with the successful charity in place from January 2027.
