Digital Messaging Service - Derbion

Digital Messaging Service

On site we offer a Digital Messaging Service (DMS) which is a mass notification system to send emergency alerts to individuals who have subscribed to the service.

It is designed to support people who may not hear a building fire or emergency alarm, including those with hearing impairments or those using ear protection equipment. In some situations, it may also be used for alarm testing notifications, emergency drills, or other safety-related communications within the centre.

We recommend that all centre users register for the service so they can clearly identify whether an alarm is a real emergency or a test.

The DMS is free to use for everyone in the centre.

How it works

  • Users send a text message containing the centre’s unique code.
  • A reply is sent confirming successful registration.
  • The message includes a link where users can set their alert preferences (text, email, or voice call).
  • When an alarm is activated in the centre, registered users receive an immediate emergency alert on their mobile device.
