As part of our ongoing charity initiative, Derbion Cares in partnership with The Food 4 Thought Alliance, are proud to announce four upcoming dates for its new school uniform swap shop event, as well as the latest focus for its Donation Station.

Aiming to support families across Derbyshire with the rising costs of school uniforms ahead of the upcoming academic year, families can head to Derbion’s Community Hub, located on Level 1, to donate, swap, or pick up school uniform items for both primary and secondary children, offering a more sustainable and affordable alternative for school uniforms.

You can find the Derbion Cares team at the Community Hub on the following dates:-

  • Friday 11th August – 10 am – 12 pm
  • Friday 18th August
  • Friday 25th August
  • Friday 1st September

Donate your preloved school items

From now until Friday 1 September, we invite you to donate your preloved school items at the Donation Station located on Level 1, outside Sainsbury’s. All donations must be clean and in good condition and all items received, new or used, branded or unbranded, will be used in the swap shop events.

We are looking to collect the following items:-

School uniforms

  • Blazers
  • Jumpers
  • Sweatshirts/cardigans (all colours)
  • Polo shirts (all colours)
  • Shirts
  • Skirts/dresses
  • Trousers – girls and boys
  • Tights or socks (new only)

PE kits

  • Shorts (all colours)
  • Crew neck T-shirts (all colours, mainly white)
  • PE skirts/ shorts
  • Plain tracksuits bottoms and tops
  • PE pumps & socks

Requesting uniform bundles

Parents can also request bespoke pre-packaged uniform bundles for collection by filling out an online form ahead of the event, which will enable them to pick up a pack that includes a jumper, three polo shirts/shirts, and one pair of trousers/skirt, depending on your requirements. Additional items including PE kits will be available upon request.
